## Services
PointSav's three-ring architecture assigns every service to a layer with defined authority and dependencies. Ring 1 services handle per-tenant boundary ingest — each accepts raw data from one external source and writes it to a durable ledger. Ring 2 services provide deterministic knowledge and processing: they read from Ring 1 and produce structured records, knowledge graphs, and search indexes. Ring 3 is a single service, service-slm, which reads from Ring 2 and never writes to it.

This category covers the autonomous services that implement Ring 1 and Ring 2 of the three-ring architecture. Ring 1 services handle per-tenant boundary ingest — each one implements a Model Context Protocol server interface, the standard by which external systems connect to the platform. Ring 2 services provide deterministic knowledge and processing: extraction, content management, search, and egress. The platform functions fully across both rings without AI compute.

Removing Ring 3 shrinks the attack surface, satisfies network-isolation requirements, and answers the compliance question of whether AI has touched the authoritative record. The answer is architectural: Rings 1 and 2 have no import, no dependency, and no runtime call that reaches Ring 3.

Each article describes one service: its purpose, its position in the ring structure, the API contract it presents, and the data it owns. Articles are written for engineers integrating with or extending a service, and for architects evaluating how the platform composes.
## Ring 1 — Boundary ingest

`service-slm` is the single boundary between Ring 2 and Ring 3 — the Doorman that routes AI requests among three compute tiers and holds all API keys. Its article describes the routing logic and the audit surface it produces.
Per-tenant boundary services. Each runs as a separate process per tenant and exposes a Model Context Protocol server interface.
